Wrotham is in Wrotham hundred, in Aylesford lathe, 24 miles from London, on the Maidstone road, It lies near the foot of the chalk hills. The church is a large well built edifice in a great mixture of styles. The market was held in the centre of the village at the intersection of the two principal streets. Population in 1831, 2601.
