HAND-WRITTEN ADDITIONS

This map is packed with interesting additions. Firstly, the label (bottom right) reads "Reference. Midland Railway Company & Bowling Company Ltd. Bradford Through Lines. Houses etc coloured pink erected between 1890 & 1905 = 15 years. Houses etc coloured blue erected between 1905 and 1912 = 7 years. Land edged blue required by Railway Company. Twelve areas outlined in red detail plots auctioned between 1881 and 1911. Around Bowling Hall, the land purchased by Bradford Corporation in 1912 is shown in Green, and the land gifted to the Corporation in the same year is shown in yellow. Bowling Park, marked as owned by Mitchell Borthers, is outlined in orange, with notes on the condition of the boundary walls etc. There is a memo written in the south-east corner noting the minerals leased to the Low Moor Co. were re-conveyed to Sir M. W. Wilson, Sep 24 1912. In the top right corner are neat inked notes locating and detailing the Waterloo Pit Shaft. And there is much more...
